They are located in a variety of places, city parks, a bakery, community halls, a church, an art gallery, and the downtown box used for LitFest. The boxes function in a take-a-book, leave-a-book way, where community members can pick up free literature and leave books behind for others.

Targeted membership: Members of the Oliver community as well as the greater community of Edmonton, looking to share in a literary project and build a community of readers.

Type of literature: Participants’ choice of what you want to select or leave behind in the box.

Distinguishable features: 3 boxes were placed outside of Oliver’s boundaries to bring the project to a wider community. LitFest also makes use of its own Little Free Library prior to the festival’s start, located downtown.
